Obituary for Joseph Wisniewski

Joseph  Wisniewski
Joseph Wisniewski, 77, long time resident of Rutherford, passed away at home
on Friday, February 3rd, 2017. He was born to Joseph and Lucille
(nee Gajewski) Wisniewski in Weehawken, NJ.

Joe had met the love of his life Rosa to whom he was married for
51 years. Together they raised their 2 children mostly in Rutherford
where he and Rosa remained for 44 years. He was the
Superintendent of Schools for Weehawken Board of Education for
15 years, retiring in 1995.
Joe was a football coach for Weehawken
HS for many years, he was an avid golfer, a member of
Weehawken Golf Club and Glades Country Club in Naples
Florida. He was also a private pilot who enjoyed flying out of
Caldwell Airport, and a member of AOPA.

Joe will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife, Rosa,
his son Joseph and his wife Laura, his daughter Margaret Scott and
her husband Terry, his 5 grandchildren; Jonathan Scott, Drew
Scott, Madison Scott, Ava Wisniewski, Sabrina Wisniewski, his
sisters Lucille Sabato and Barbara De Lorenzo. He is predeceased
by his sister Terry Kelly and Peter Wisniewski.

Family will receive friends Tuesday 4pm to 8pm in the Calhoun-
Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford, with a Prayer
Service at 7pm.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday 9:30am from Funeral Home for
10:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary,
91 Home Avenue, Rutherford followed by a Prayer Service at East
Ridgelawn Chapel, Clifton.
