Obituary for Gloria Ann Slater

Gloria Ann (nee Coglianese) Slater, born August 5, 1927, passed away Wednesday, January 31st, 2018.
A long-time resident of Rutherford, she was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Slater; mother of Marianne (Joe) Branda, Tony (Sharon) and David (Celia) Slater, and Kristen (Michael) Davis; grandmother to Kyle, Matthew, Sarah, Natalie, Christopher and Jillian; and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Raised in Union City, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Antoinette Coglianese.
Gloria graduated from Emerson high school in Union City and went on to hold jobs at Fairleigh Dickinson University and several law firms. She had many friends – including a boisterous bridge club – and a ready smile for all. She loved Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett and never said no to an invitation to an adventure, especially exploring yard sales or walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. The family sends their thanks to the staff of the Allendale Community.

Family will receive friends Friday 4 to 7pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral on Saturday, gathering 8:30am from Funeral Home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
Interment in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus.
