Obituary for Rita C. Keeley

Rita C. Keeley
Rita C. Keeley, 91, of Rutherford, passed away Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 at home with her family by her side.
She was born and raised in Jersey City, (the youngest of 9 children), to Carmine and Margaret Aumenta.
Later, Rita & her husband John settled in Rutherford where they raised their children. Rita was a Bank Teller in Rutherford for The National Community Bank for several years. For enjoyment Rita took trips to Atlantic City, she was also a bingo player and would enjoy solving puzzles. She loved music and her family referred to her as the “Dancing Queen”. Rita was the life of the party, loved having a good time and would have fun dressing up and role playing (well known) musicians and singers.
Rita was a strong willed person, always speaking her mind. She was also caring and very giving to those she cared about; when asked for help, she was there! Her family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren. Rita would always pray, she was very spiritual and said her Rosary everyday.

Rita is predeceased by her husband John J. Keeley (1978), she will be missed by her devoted daughter Diane Rosamilia and husband Ralph, son Dennis, her grandchildren, Nicole Rosamilia, Michael Rosamilia, Jessica Keeley, JT Keeley, Alison Keeley and sibling Albert Aumenta. She is predeceased by 8 siblings, her niece Gail and nephew Chappy.

The family would like to extend a thank you to her loving nieces and nephews, especially Margret (who called her each day), Deborah, Susan and Karen and Ben (with his many phone calls), Carmine and Martin and to all of her caring nieces and nephews.
*A special thank you to her wonderful “aids” who provided outstanding care and devotion to Rita; Judy (whom she considered her best friend) and Norma. You each meant so much to Rita and her family.*

Family will receive friends Thursday 2 to 6pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford and a Prayer Service at 5:30pm, offered by Deacon James Guida from the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
Funeral is private.
