Obituary for Stella Svane
Stella Svane, 96, of Rutherford, passed away Monday,October 7, 2019. She was born in New York City to Jens Peter Nielsen and Anna (nee Keurner) Nielsen along with her twin brother Waldo Nielsen. Stella had attended College and received an Associates Degree. She had a 23 year career in Management Services for Port Authority where she was the first female Toll Collector in NY and NJ, before retiring in 1981.
Stella was predeceased by her husband Ole Svane (of 72 years) in May of 2014. They were married in May of 1918. She is also predeceased by her brother Waldo in 1989. Stella will be sadly missed by her children, Anna Lisa Oliver, Paul Svane, Hans Christian Svane, Kenneth Svane, grandchildren; David, Michael, Rebekah, great-grandchildren; Amber, Allexa, Andrew, Andrea, Abigail,Michael, Robert, Faith, great-great grandchildren Sakylar and Stella.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service 10am on Saturday, December 7th, in St. John's Lutheran Church, 145 Mortimer Church, Rutherford.
Interment at a later date.
