Alexander “Alex" Viecelli, 80, of Bushnell, Fl, formerly of Rutherford, NJ passed away December 3rd, 2015. He was recently predeceased by his loving wife Joan, of 59 years. Alex is also predeceased by his parents, Moses and Mary (nee Onder) Viecelli and stepfather, Michael Izzo, as well as his daughter Michele. Alex was born in Jeannette, PA in 1935. He was raised in Hoboken and Jersey City, before moving his wife and children to Rutherford in 1961.
Alex leaves behind three adoring sisters, Marie, Nora and Camille, his five children and their spouses, Maria and Pete Gozdieski, Linda and Joe Aleles, Tina and Harold Osborne, Sandra and Jim Merli & Alex and Debbie Viecelli. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; Ronnie, Jessica, Nicole, Victoria, Jason, Robert, Michele,Laura, Patrick, James, Julie, Michelle, Alex, Emily and 14 great –grandchildren, Ronnie, Ava, Lily and Gabriel.
Alex owned and operated his own amusement business for over 50 years, employing hundreds of local people and providing many happy memories to youngsters throughout New York and New Jersey. He was an avid collector of watches and tools. He also enjoyed a wide variety of music including Frank Sinatra, as well as country and Western. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife and family, spending time taking care of animals and planting different types of trees on his property, in Florida.

Funeral on Tuesday 9am from the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford for 10am Liturgy of the Word in The Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, No. Arlington.

Family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8pm
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alex’s name to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778
