Obituary for Allison Roberts Falana

Allison Roberts Falana, 47, of Vero Beach Florida, formerly of Rutherford, died May 12, 2021.
Allison was born in New Jersey to Edward and Karen Meyer Roberts.

She graduated from Rutherford High School there, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bucknell University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
After finishing her education, she lived and taught in Fairfax County in Virginia and Indian River County in Florida. She then taught at Rosewood Elementary in Vero Beach for 19 years.
It was in elementary school that she decided to become a teacher and pursued that dream until her last day, never regretting that decision. Many students were thankful for that.
She was a whiz at mathematics, scoring a perfect 800 on her Math SATs. She was so glad her son Alec inherited her math skills but he would be her pride and joy regardless.

Allison married the love of her life Robb and spent many happy years with him.
It seemed she never met a dog she didn’t like and many became part of her family from childhood on.
She enjoyed travel and especially loved her Irish heritage, visiting Ireland in 1994. Allison loved the beaches both in Vero Beach and at the Jersey Shore where a Kohrs Mint Twist cone was a required
treat. She was fond of everything Disney and her son inherited her love for any amusement park roller coaster/thrill ride. But she also enjoyed reading a good book.
Allison shared a love of sports with her Dad and enjoyed playing softball, track, tennis, gymnastics, cheer-leading and a little basketball. She passionately rooted for her beloved teams, the Mets and
the Giants although she was a fan of the local teams wherever she lived.

Diagnosed in 2016 with metastatic breast cancer, she fought it aggressively with the same enthusiasm and cheerful nature that marked her life. While she did not beat the cancer, neither did it beat her.

She will be remembered as a kind, caring, smiling wife, mother, daughter, teacher, family member and friend. Her legacy is not measured by possessions but by her example of commitment, love
and respect for all.

Allison is survived by her loving husband Robb, cherished son Alec, beloved mother Karen and many caring family members, friends and students. She was predeceased by her father Edward in
2010.
A gathering to celebrate a life well lived but much too short will be held on Saturday June 5, 2021 at American Icon Brewery in Vero Beach from 4 to 6 PM.
