Anne Catherine Bowers, “Nancy”, 78, of North Carolina formerly of East Rutherford passed Tuesday August 22, 2023, surrounded by her family.  Born in Hoboken to Andrew Frank Kunz & Marie (nee Slane).

Nancy graduated from E. Rutherford High School in 1963.  In 1993 she married James Bowers.  Nancy was on Becton Regional High School Board of Education in the 1980’s.  She also was a member of the East Rutherford Fire Department Company 2 Ladies Auxiliary in the 1970’s & 1980’s.   She was also an avid bowler and bowled at Wallington Lanes.  Nancy was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in East Rutherford.

Nancy and James relocated to North Carolina in 1995.  Nancy worked as a Human Resource Manager for 20 years retiring in 2018 for Home Instead in Greensboro North Carolina. 

Nancy had a passion for her pet farm which included many animals’ horses, pigs, donkey, fainting goats, ducks, chickens’ peacocks, pigeons & rabbits along with her 2 dogs Buckwheat & Max. She also loved camping for many years with close friends.  Jim and Nancy were seasonal campers in Andover for several years.  Nancy loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.  Her family had life-long memories of her farm.

Anne is predeceased by her husband James Bowers (2023).  She is survived by her children Bernard Jr. & wife Maria & Lorianne Rogers & husband Dennis, her grandchildren, Ryan & wife Susan, Chris, Andrew, Julia, Jessica, Jenna & Patrick, greatgrandchildren; Elodie, Amelia & Lexi, her brother, Edward Kunz & wife Maureen their children Tracy, Taryn, Andy & Carly.

The family will receive friends Friday August 25, 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.  Funeral Saturday, all are asked to arrive 10am for 11:00am Prayer Service at the funeral home.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Private Cremation.
