Cherekjian, Ara, 89 of Rutherford passed on May 1, 2010 surrounded by his family.
Ara was an Army veteran of WWII, he later went on to explore jewelry design and manufacturing and soon after accepted a position at Curtis Wright in Wood-Ridge as a welder and worked there for for 30 years and retired in 1983. He is survived by his Beloved wife Mary(nee Kahaumjian) his devoted children John and his wife Barbara, Elaine Wolfe, her husband Lenny, his loving grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, Katie and Billy. Ara was predeceased by his sister Arax Cherekjian( 2002) and parents Rose (nee Boyajian) and Hagop Cherekjian.
Friends are asked to assemble Tuesday 9:45am at the church for Services to begin at 10:00am in St. Leon Armenian Church 12-61 Saddle River Road Fairlawn . (stleon.org) Interment Grove Church Cemetery No. Bergen .
Family will receive friends Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Avenue Rutherford .
