Obituary for Beth E Vaughan

Beth E. Vaughan (née Hoffman), of Rutherford, passed away on Tuesday April 19, 2022. She was born in Jersey City to Frederick Hoffman & Elizabeth ( née Mulder) in 1929.

Beth was a registered nurse who worked at Christ Hospital, South Bergen Hospital and was the beloved school nurse and health educator at Webster School in Weehawken for over 50 years. She went back to school, earning a Master of Education and finishing up her career as the Assistant Principal of Weehawken High School until 2003. Beth was an active parishioner and former Senior Warden of Grace Episcopal Church and received The David Paul Hegg II 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award. She enjoyed playing tennis, going to the gym regularly, and looked forward to playing bridge with her dear friends on Thursday evenings. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, enjoying an especially close bond and creating many happy memories with her two grandchildren.

Beth is predeceased by her husband Thomas Vaughan (1996) and her brother Frederick William (Bill) Hoffman (1994). She is survived by her loving children; Ardis Vaughan & partner Bob Chorney, Deon Vaughan & husband Robert Waugh, Brit Vaughan & wife Janet Grecco, Tierney Vaughan & partner Derek DeMas and her adoring grandchildren, Jensen Vaughan & Keir Vaughan.

Beth’s family would like to invite friends and family to a memorial service followed by a reception celebrating her life on June 1st at 6:30 pm at Grace Episcopal Church,
128 West Passaic Avenue, Rutherford.
