Carmela “Ella” Mastromonaco, 91 of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2011. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, December 28, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, at the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070. A funeral mass will be conducted at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in East Rutherford, NJ on Thursday, December 29 at 10:00 AM. Born on July 4, 1920 in Jersey City, NJ, beloved wife of the late Michael A. Mastromonaco, Sr. and daughter of the late Bernardo Celauro and Bartolina Campanella. Carmela lived in Jersey City until 1950, after which she and her husband lived for many years in Carlstadt, NJ, where they raised three sons. They retired to Inverness, Florida and Manahawkin, NJ, where they enjoyed many years of happiness together. Carmela loved her home in Manahawkin, NJ, participating in local community and church clubs, where she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

Predeceased by one of her three sons, Michael A. Mastromonaco, Jr., and her brother Frank Celauro, Carmela is survived by her loving sons Robert and Joseph Mastromonaco, and will be deeply missed by her surviving brother Joseph Celauro. Carmela is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Jeanette, Joseph, Michele, Nicole and Olivia, and her eight great-grandchildren, Alison, Amber, Caleb, Courtney, Jacob, Kylee, Melissa and Owen.
