Obituary for Carmine F "Sonny " Randazzo

Carmine F. Randazzo, 93, of Rutherford, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at home. Born to Bernard and Teresa Randazzo, he was one of four children, from Jersey City. He was known to his family and friends as “Sonny” or “Lefty”. Sonny proudly served the United States Army at the end of WWII. Shortly after his honorable discharge he became a Teamsters truck driver employed by Schuster Trucking in Lyndhurst Local 641. He retired in 1992.

Sonny was a Parishioner of Saint Mary RC Church in Rutherford. He would always be found attending Church service every Saturday at 5:00pm with his nephew Bernie (Godson) and his wife Christine Wazinski. He enjoyed going for long walks around town and attending all his grandchildren’s sporting events. Sonny was an outgoing man, he would strike up a conversation with anyone. He was liked by everyone he met. His favorite dining hall was IHOP. He loved BBQ’s with family and friends. He was a fan of the Yankees, Mets, Giants and Jets.

Sonny is predeceased by his wife Joan, his son Michael, sisters Patty and Jennie. Sonny will be missed by his devoted and loving sister Rosie, his children; Elizabeth (George) Joseph, Mary Ann Cavanaugh, daughter-in-law Barbara Randazzo, grandchildren; Stacy, Stephanie, Matthew, Amanda, Michael, and Monica, great-grandchildren; Noah, Maddox, Kennedy, Emery, Jackson, Isabelle, Adaline, his nephew Bernie (Christine) Wazinski and his great-nieces Jillian and Skylar.

Family will receive friends Sunday 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.

Funeral Monday 8:30am from Funeral Home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy at Saint Mary RC Church in Rutherford, followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
