On Sunday, August 21, 2022, Carolyn A. Strassman, DDS “Molar” passed away peacefully at age 63 after a brief illness. Carolyn was the biological mother of two daughters. However, many people considered Molar their surrogate mother.

Dr. Strassman was a very respected and loved Dentist in Rutherford for over 35 years. She was a devoted member of the Rutherford Lions Club & enjoyed decorating their Christmas tree at the Kip Center every year. She and her daughters ran a holiday boutique, Classic Creations Boutiques for 13 years, in HoHoKus and then in Rutherford. She spent much of her spare time playing tennis, hiking, crafting, and traveling. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her husband Jeffrey and daughters Kate, Chloe and husband Robert, siblings Brian, Doug and wife Deanna, Jennifer and husband Denis, Rachel and husband Joseph, nephews; Jason, Matthew, Michael and Chris.

Friends will be received Thursday 9:30am to 11:30am in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. A Noon Mass of Catholic Liturgy will be offered at the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford followed by a private interment.
