Catherine D’Addetta, 83, of Rutherford, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021. Born one of three children to Emanual and Carmella (nee Villiani) Fanelli in Hoboken, NJ. She was raised by her stepmother Theresa Fanelli who also had two children.

Catherine had a long career as a secretary and office manager. She grew up in Union City NJ. In 1975 she and her husband John moved to Rutherford. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles , cooking , and hosting family gatherings for all the holidays. She also loved spending time at her home on Long Beach Island. Catherine was kind, generous, and was loved by all who knew her. Her joy in life was found in her dedication to helping others.

Catherine is survived by her devoted husband John, her loving daughter Eileen Llaneza and husband Thomas, her grandchildren John, Catherine, Michael, her great-grandchild Thomas and siblings Caroline DeLotto and John Benugh. She is predeceased by siblings Frank Fanelli and Betty Pinelli.

Visiting will be private.

For Funeral, friends are asked to meet Thursday for 10am Mass of Christian Liturgy in St. Joseph’s Church, East Rutherford.
