Obituary for Catherine R Ivanovic
Catherine Ivanovic, 59, (nee Salzano), of Rutherford, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Newark, one of four children to James Eugene Salzano and Ruth Catherine (nee McGrath) Salzano.
Catherine met a young fellow, Mark Ivanovic, after some time they fell in love and were married settling in Rutherford to raise their two sons. Catherine was very much involved in the community; she was a Cub Scout leader, a Church Mentor at the Church of Saint Mary where she was a member and a devoted parishioner. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society fundraisers in Rutherford. Catherine was self employed team leader for her Life Style Company named Optavia Weight loss. She enjoyed taking long walks, going to the beach in Wildwood, taking Zumba classes and mostly cooking for her family. Keeping her family close and spending her time with them made her happiest. She was an advocate for spreading kindness and enjoying a good laugh.
Catherine will be deeply missed by her devoted and adoring husband Mark, her loving sons, Mark Anthony . Ivanovic and Joseph Ivanovic, her siblings; Carmela Martins, James Salzano, Louise Karaguer and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.
Family will receive friends Thursday 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Funeral Friday, all to gather 8:30am in Funeral Home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
