Cathleen Claire Mallett passed away  peacefully at home on August 8, 2023 after a battle with Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis.  Cathy was 58 years old.   

Cathy was born April 13,1965 to Janice (Redmond) and Keith Gordon Mallett at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, NJ.  She grew up in Rutherford, NJ, attending and graduating from  Lincoln School, Pierrepont School, and Rutherford High School.   She was a Rutherford girl through and through!  Cathy got her B.F.A. degree in Illustration from Parsons School of Design in May 1987.   She got an additional B.A. degree in Graphic Design  from Montclair State University in 2006.

Cathy was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Rutherford.  She participated in the choir; the Grace community has alway been a comfort to her, especially during her journey in recent years. 

Cathy was a talented artist!   She loved music, horses, and sharks.  She had an amazing thirst for knowledge on so many subjects!     Watching Jeopardy next to her was a humbling experience.  She also had a deep emotional connection to the family lakehouse in North Hero, Vermont.  

Cathy was supported in her illness battle by caring specialty teams at Hackensack Meridian Medical Center/John Theurer Cancer Center.   She amazed all of us with her strength, perseverance, resiliency, and will as she battled to get well.   

Cathy enjoyed lifelong friendships with Patty DiFlauro Piroh, Vinnie Mariano, and many others.

Cathy is survived and loved by:

her sisters: Pamela Mallett of San Mateo & Kenwood, CA; Patricia Mallett Knight of Wyckoff, NJ; and Cindy Mallett Feuss of Glen Rock, NJ

her nieces & nephews: Garrett Knight, Conner Knight, Taylor Feuss, Henry Feuss, and Ellen Feuss

her GRAND niece: Atticus Jacklyn Knight and Atti's Mom - Lee Knight 

AND many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Mallett, Scelfo, Carbonetti, and Waldron families

Visitation will be Friday August 11, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Calhoun/Mania Funeral Home in Rutherford.  Church Service at Grace Episcopal Church, Rutherford, on Saturday, August 12th at 11:00 am.  

Cremation will follow, and Cathy's ashes will be interred at her beloved Grace Episcopal Church in the Garden of Repose.
