LATSOUNAS Christos B, 89, of Rutherford, passed away on August 2, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Christos was born March 2, 1921 to Vasilios and Archonto (nee Gonos) Latsounas. He was a World War II Veteran who served with the United States Army in Europe. Christos was a member of the Furrier Union Joint council Local 70, NYC for 25 years. He worked as a furrier first at Greenburg & Sons, NYC then Christian Dior where he was the shop chairman and retired in 1986. He was a proud member of the Society of Epirotes Anagenesis- Souliotissai.
He is survived by his wife Lefkothena (nee Vizouskis) and his son: Paul C. and his wife Marizta. Christos is also survived by his half sister Antigone Giannaros and half brother Kostantinos Latsounas. Christos was a devoted grandfather to Christopher Paul.
A loving cousin to Lefkothea Karagiannis, Kostantinos Karagiannis and Vasilios Karagiannis.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford.
Relatives and friends are asked to assemble on Friday August 6, for an 11:00am Service in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, 818 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at East Ridge Lawn Cemetery, Clifton.
