VanDerHoof, Delbert, 83, of Rutherford passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 in the presence of his family. Born in Passaic to Harry and Anna (nee Roman). Delbert was a truck driver for John Cook Inc.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Dorothy, ( nee Rahfield ) for 62 years, their three sons, Ed and his wife Sharon, Wayne and his wife Kathy, Glenn and his wife Mary, grandchildren Edwin, Michele, Heather, Wayne Jr.,Karen, Andrew, Elizabeth and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Buddy and Robert and his sister Doris. He is survived by his sister Joannie Van Der Hoof.
Delbert was a past Master for both the Doric Masonic Lodge of Union City and Boiling Spring Masonic Lodge of Rutherford and a member of the Eclipse Masonic Lodge of East Rutherford. Delbert also was a member of the Salaam Shrine of Livingston with the Shriners Temple where he was a member of the clown division. He was a deacon for the First Methodist Church in East Rutherford and many years ago was a Sunday school teacher.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 25, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm Prayer Service 4:00pm, Rev BJ Kim Officiating.
Interment: East Ridgelawn Cemetery: Private cremation.
