Trovillion, Dorothy Irene Schifferli 86, passed on June 26, 2010 surrounded by her adored family. Born in East Rutherford to Walter and Ethel Schifferli. Dorothy lived most of her life in Rutherford. She began her 30 year teaching career in the Teaneck School System as a pre-k and kindergarten teacher. As time went on she met and later married Hal Edward Trovillion. Eventually they started a family and she left teaching to raise her beloved family. As the children grew, and she had more free time her passion for teaching was rekindled and she began her teaching career again in the Rutherford Cooperative Day Nursery for many years before working for the Rutherford Congregational Church as Director of their Cooperative Day Nursery Center, retiring at age 70.
Dorothy, is predeceased by her daughter Cheryl(1968) her devoted husband Hal Edward (1979), her sister Ethel Ropp and her brothers Walter and Charles Schifferli. She is survived by her loving children Gary, Scott and Keith. She leaves her behind her adored grandchildren Joseph, Daniel,Brian, Renee,Lauren and Alison.
Her funeral will be Wednesday 10:30am in the Rutherford Congregationl Church 251 Union Avenue, Rutherford.
Family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday 4 to 8pm.
