Scott

Edith S. (nee Stirling), 98, a life-long resident of Rutherford, passed away September 24, 2013. Born in New York, NY to the late Arthur Percy and Charlotte (nee Rose) Stirling in 1915.
Edith was employed as a Secretary for Becton Dickinson in East Rutherford until she retired in 1985. She was a member at Grace Episcopal Church in Rutherford and the former Secretary of the Sunday school and her husband was the Superintendent. Edith was and enthusiastic member of several church groups, The Women’s Chapter of Grace Church, St. Elizabeth’s Chapter and the Wednesday Group. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Kip Center.

She is predeceased by her husband George R. Scott Sr. (1968) and her daughter Barbara Kiersted (2013). Edith is survived by her son George R. Scott of Rutherford, NJ, her grandchildren; Miriam Sherman of Myrtle Beach, SC, Steven Scott of Dryden N.Y., Alan Kiersted of Newfoundland, PA, George Kiersted of Hartford, PA and Kathleen Steed of Myrtle Beach, SC. Her Great grandchildren Brendon Sherman, Maxwell Sherman, Thomas Kiersted, Allison Belford, Brooke Steed, Anthony Steed and Dalton Scott.
