Obituary for Eric John Katic
Eric John Katic, 37, life long resident of Little Ferry, past away Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was born in Hackensack to Frank Kuzma Katic and Rachel (nee Levy) Katic.
As a graduate of Ridgefield Park High School, Eric was a great athlete, especially in soccer as one of the leading goal scorer’s for Bergen County.
He enjoyed going down the shore and fishing on his family boat. Eric had several friends who stayed close together from childhood. A common bond between them was Rap music, sports and great conversation.
Eric was a selfless man who would do anything for anyone, he always put others first. When his father Frank became ill, he gave up having a career, putting his own life on hold. He devoted all of his time to his father’s care over a ten year period, until Frank passed away in 2010.
Eric leaves us with broken hearts. We will miss him until we see him once again.
Eric leaves behind his adoring mother Rachel, his aunt Maureen (Hofer), aunt Harriet (Zuckerman) and many devoted friends.
Family will receive friends Monday, September 13, 2021 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm with a service at 7:30 sharp, in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral Wednesday 11:00am Interment in Maryrest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Ave., Mahwah.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request plants (for longevity) or food (for many to enjoy) sent to their home. Those “attending services” may ask for family address upon arrival.
