Florence Hopkins (nee Strohm) age 100 died on September 16, 2010 at home in Rutherford surrounded by her family.
Florence was born in Troy, Pennsylvania to John and Jennie Strohm. The youngest of 7 children.
She graduated from High School as Valedictorian, married her high school sweetheart and moved to New York City in 1928.
She began her livelihood as a dressmaker and worked her way up in the industry to working for Top Designers of Stage and Screen.
At age 55 she decided to change careers, enrolled in nursing school and became a nurse for Pelham Bay Hospital in the Bronx. Florence's passion for the past 70 years was dedicated to Bible Study and her Love for the Lord. Florence was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph (1977) and her son Raymond. (1999).
She is survived by her loving daughter Alice Hopkins ~Passios, son in-law George Passios. Her grandchildren Nancy Doiron, Wendy Hopkins, James Hopkins and Great Granddaughters Louise and Audrey Doiron.
