Florence (nee Cook), 85, of East Rutherford, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2010.
Born to Leif and Cissy(nee Johnsen) Cook in Brooklyn on December 8,1925. She lived in East Rutherford before moving to Mahwah, NJ eight years ago.
Florence was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, for both her mom and dad were born in Norway. She loved handwork with crocheting and knitting her specialty. She knitted baby hats for the premature babies in Hackensack University Hospital, donating close to 400 hats.
She loved her family, Atlantic City escapades, "the Boys" (Celtic Thunder) and just being on the go.
She was married to David who predeceased her in 1995 for 45yrs. Florence was the devoted mother of 3 children Barbara of Mahwah, Bill and his wife Jill of Lake Hiawatha and Lorraine O'Connor who predeceased her in 2001. She was the cherished grandmother of 2 grandchildren Kelly and Stephen O'Conner. Loving sister to the late Walter Cook (1965)and his wife Arlene. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Douglas and Lynn Cook, Robert and Gretchen Cook, Richard and Bonnie Cook, Glen and Kay Lammey, Nancy Lammey and several great nieces and nephews.
