Frances Vita Chester
December 8, 1949 – August 28, 2021 (Age 71)
Frances Vita Chester, 71, of Rutherford NJ, passed away Saturday August 28th, 2021 following a short illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, December 08, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Grispino and Michalina Lombardi Grispino.
Frances was an executive secretary for Fairleigh Dickinson University and a hairdresser for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend.
In addition to her parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins, Frances was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Grispino, her ex-husband, Raymond Powierski, her brother-in-law, Stanley Powierski and her loving husband of 28 years, Anthony Chester.
She is survived by two children, Ray (Powierski) Powers, his wife Rose Lucas Powers and their daughter Emma of Rutherford, NJ; Matt Powierski of Lodi, NJ, his daughter, Sofia Powierski of Rutherford, NJ and girlfriend, Daria Rotondo of Nutley, NJ; sister-in-law, Frances Powierski of Brooklyn, NY; Carin Powierski of Queens, NY and numerous cousins and friends.
Frances had a very strong faith in God that carried her through many difficult times in her life. She attended, The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Montclair, NJ. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved hosting holiday and Sunday dinners.
She had a strong and infectious personality that made an impression on everyone she met.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 2nd at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home in Rutherford, NJ from 4PM-7:15PM with service following at 7:15PM.
