Frederick W. Lyons, 75, long time resident of Rutherford, passed away June 12, 2023. Born in New York City, one of five children to Frederick and Catherine (nee Hennessy) Lyons. 

He married his sweetheart Silvia 48 years ago settling in the wonderful community of Rutherford in 1977 where they raised their three children.                                                                           Frederick was a Flow Trader for Lehman Brothers in New York City for 35 years,before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed the hobby of building models. He was a big Yankee fan and an avid reader. Frederick especially enjoyed the readings of authorsTom Clancy and Clive Cussler. When his children were young he looked forward to long drives and vacationing at the “Beachcomber Camping Resort” in Cape May with his family. Frederick had a deep love for his grandchildren who gave him so much joy. He babysat for all of them and was affectionately known as Lelo.

Frederick is survived by his loving wife Silvia (nee Meijide), his daughter Jennifer L. Lyons, Brian M. and wife Brittany, Daniel Patrick and wife Danielle, grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma, Quinn, Kelsey and his siblings; Catherine Cahill, Robert Lyons, Ellen McAvoy and Janet McGrory.
