George C. Hoyne, 88, resident of Rutherford for 55 years, passed away at home on June 6, 2011. George was born in Jersey City to Helen and Frank Hoyne. He retired as a machinist from American Can Company, Jersey City, George was a Member of the Knights of Columbus, Jersey City, Member of the Garden State Harmonica Club. Beloved husband to his wife of 69 years Dorothy (nee Lasch). Loving father to Karen Hoyne, Dr. Kenneth G. Hoyne PhD and wife Leslie Richmand, Debra Jaide, Dianne Ciccone and husband Allyn, Beth Anne Shafman and significant other Joseph MacMahon and Julie Hoyne. Cherished grandfather to 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. George is predeceased by his 8 brothers and sisters Friends will be received on Wednesday 4 to 8pm in the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford. Funeral Thursday, friends should arrive 9:00am before a Prayer Service at 10:00am. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
