Obituary for Glenn Frederick Raymond

Glenn Frederick Raymond

******************************************

Raymond

Glenn Frederick, 53, of Wall, NJ formerly of Rutherford, passed away Thursday August 6, 2015. He had bravely and courageously battled with Multiple Sclerosis for almost 27 years. He was born in Hackensack, NJ to the late Charles W. & Joyce A. (nee Grundman) Raymond. He was grandson to the dedicated and beloved late Fredrick J. and Alice E. Grundman of Rutherford, and Albert and Nana (Elizabeth) Emery of Highlands.

Glenn attended Rutherford HS and was a graduate of the class of 1980. He was extremely passionate about auto motives growing up, and had many project cars, including a blue 70 Plymouth GTX that he fully restored himself. Glenn also had a big interest in firearms as well as history, specifically the WWII Marines. Music was very important to Glenn and he had many favorites such as Johnny Cash, Frank Zappa, and Billy Joel. In his spare time, he could be found gardening in the yard of his house that had been in the family line for almost 100 years.

Anyone who knew Glenn knew that he was the strongest fighter there could be during his battle with this debilitating disease. He is our family’s hero.
Glenn will be exceedingly missed by his beloved children: Joyce, Julie, and Tyler Raymond, and their mother JoAnn; his siblings: caring brother Douglas Raymond and wife Marilyn, and devoted sister Dawn Seaman (nee Raymond); his loving nephew and nieces: Doug James Raymond, Paige Seaman, Kara Seaman, and Brooke Seaman; his favorite aunt: Aunt Betty of Hudson, Florida; and his dearest Grandma Suzie Tassey Acker of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday gathering at 10 am in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford for 11 am Prayer Service followed by Entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends on Monday 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.

To honor Glenn, we would appreciate donations made to the Rutherford Fire Dept. in his name or, if preferred, flower baskets for Funeral Services.
