Harold John, 92, of Kinnelon, passed away Saturday, January 18, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hoboken, NJ, Mr. Ciser lived in Jersey City in his early years. A WWII Veteran, he served with the rank of Staff Sgt. in the US Army Air Corp in Japan, the Philippines & Okinawa as an airplane engineer crew member of the B-25J “Mitchel” Betty’s Dream presently on display at the Houston, Texas Bomber flying Legends Museum as well as other B-25 aircrafts.
He married in 1946, entered into the home building business and moved to Clifton in 1953 where he remained for 30 years to raise his family. Harold also worked at Continental Can Co., Passaic NJ as a Millwright Foreman during the 1960’s through early 1980’s prior to returning to his contracting business and final retirement. He and his wife Betty retired to Tom’s River in 1983. In 2007 he relocated to Wayne and then to Kinnelon.
Harold was a husband and father who worked tirelessly to support his large family and was always willing to share his skilled labor with family and friends.
