Obituary for Harold Lee Klahre

Harold Lee  Klahre
Harold Lee Klahre, 75, a long time resident of Rutherford, passed away peacefully, Tuesday April 9th, 2013 surrounded by his family. Hal was born in Bedford, Pennsylvania, the eldest son of Theodore and Madeline Klahre. He grew up on the family farm and attended a one room school house. Hal graduated from Penn State with a degree in Agriculture in 1959. After graduation he served four years active duty in the United States Air Force and was stationed in France and Germany.
Upon returning from active duty, he settled in New Jersey. Hal married Terry in 1970 and the couple moved to Rutherford. He earned his masters degree in
Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickenson University and worked as a financial analyst in New Jersey and Manhattan until his retirement in 2003. Hal continued to serve in the Air Force reserves, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1984.

Harold is survived by Terry, his devoted wife of 42 years, his loving daughters, Kay and her husband Bill Aprea, TJ and her husband Chris Hirsch, and his five beautiful grandchildren; TJ, Hannah, Lorelai, Scott and Julia. He is predeceased by his parents, Theodore (1974) and Madeline (2005), and his younger brother, Richard (2012).

Family will receive friends Friday April 12th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a 2:30PM Prayer Service in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Private Cremation. Donations may be made in honor of Hal to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, 1 Union St. Suite 301 , Robbinsville , NJ 08691.
To Honor the Service Hal have to his Country an Air Force Flag will be displayed on our Flag pole in front of the funeral Home for the duration of the funeral Service.
