Obituary for Harry Reicherz

Harry Reicherz, age 76, of Rutherford, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022.   Born in Jersey City on July 9, 1946 to Harold and Clementine (nee Zampella). He proudly served in the United States National Guard for 6 years and was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron.

Harry graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry and pursued a master’s degree in Marketing. He started his career working in the fragrance industry for IFF in NYC before pursuing his passion for photography.  He ran his own business, Quest Studios, for over 20 years in Lyndhurst, NJ.  He later became a salesman for Ivy-Dry, Inc. in Fairfield, NJ before retiring.

Harry loved his time on Long Beach Island and had a strong appetite for learning… and cookies, cakes and pies.  He enjoyed time spent on his boat and even became a licensed Master Captain and a Senior Navigator for the U.S. Power Squadron. Above all, Harry loved his girls: his three daughters, his two granddaughters, and especially the love of his life for over 49 years, his wife Elaine. Harry will be remembered as an honest, quick-witted, no-nonsense kind of guy.

Harry is survived by his devoted wife Elaine (nee Ryan), his three loving children; Jasmine Reicherz and wife Arlene, Jessica Reicherz and husband Michael Traganos, Jillian Reicherz, his grandchildren, Mila and Madison Traganos, his wife Elaine’s family: Thomas & Lynn Ryan, Dolores Mullen, Bob Ryan, Diane & Mike London, Donna & Victor DeCarlo, Glenn & Nora Ryan. Predeceased by his in-laws: John & Jean Ryan, brother-in-law John E. Ryan, and sister-in-law Christine Siclari & her husband Frank.

Family will receive friends on Monday 8/8/22 from 4 pm to 8 pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Funeral Tuesday, all to gather at 8:30am from Funeral home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 120 Hoboken Rd, E. Rutherford.
