Obituary for Herbert Folsom Pendleton Jr.

Herbert F. Pendleton, Jr., 97, of Nutley, passed away in his home, Tuesday, November 23, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn NY to Herbert Folsom Pendleton, Sr. and Elizabeth Pendleton.

Herbert served in the United States Marine Corps, he was a Staff Sgt. during WWll and the Korean conflict. He attended College at both Texas A&M and Columbia University. He was married to Marie (nee Rogan) in 1950 for 50 years before she passed away in 2000.
Herbert was a Regional Sales Manager for Neogard Co., a Seal Coating company, in Dallas Texas for 30 years before retiring.

He was a Tenor singer with a beautiful voice. Herbert sang in such groups as The Brooklyn Boys Choir the Apollo Club of Brooklyn and the Montclair Operatic Guild.
He was also selected to sing in an elite choral group in Fort Meyer's Florida.
He became the Choir Director for the Third Reform Choir in Haversack and directed Christmas Caroler’s in Rutherford for many years.

Herb was a Charter member and Past Chapter President of the Construction Specification Institution.
Herb was also a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Herbert is survived by his loving children; Kevin, Timothy, Ellen, Herbert, III and Ronald, his seven grandchildren and his 10 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by is two sisters, Margaret Schmidtt and Alberta.Schilcker.
