Jacoline Melissa Reformato (Melissa) passed away on July 26, 2023 at home. 

Born November 20, 1972, in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of Ralph and Jacoline Garreth. Melissa graduated from Council Rock High School, class of 1990 and Susquehanna University, class of 1994. She spent over 22 years with Systematic Financial Management as an Equity Trader.

Melissa loved crafting. Many of her family and friends received some of the most beautiful and individualized pieces of needlework or her crocheted hats, blankets, scarves, and other comforting gifts. She considered being a wife and fur mom the most precious aspect of life, only slightly more than being a phenomenal daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Melissa would go to the greatest lengths to ensure that those who were worthy received her whole heart.

Melissa is survived by her fur babies, Franco and Blitz (the raptor Wookiee), her mother, Jacoline Garreth; her sister and brother-in-law, Ali and Chris Grava, their children, Daniella Jacoline and Brady Christopher. She is also survived by her parents-in-law, Lucien and Jackie Reformato; her sisters-in-law, Jeanne and Joanne and their children, Michael, Kayla, Amanda, and Rachel.

Melissa was preceded in death by the love of her life, John Reformato; her father, Ralph H. Garreth; her grandparents, Clem and Mary Bickerstaff; Ralph and Francis Garreth.

Melissa’s family would like to sincerely thank all of her friends in the Lyndhurst area for trying so hard to support her as she grieved Ref’s passing over the last year. With a special appreciation for Roger Chang and others at Systematic Financial Management for their compassion, care, and consistency during this time.

Please remember Melissa in the way that you need, but bear in mind these important words: Do not mourn me; Celebrate me.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memoriam to Bergen County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center to 100 United Lane, Teterboro, NJ 07608. Checks should be made out to Bergen County and  include Jacoline Melissa Reformato and the address that you would like your letter sent in acknowledgment.

Family will recieve friends for Memorial Visiting Tuesday August 8th, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
