Obituary for Janet Callan
Janet Callan 76 (nee Platt) of East Rutherford formerly a 35-year resident of Rutherford passed on Friday April 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Janet loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandson. She unselfishly was very caring of her family and friends, always lending a helping hand whenever she was needed. Janet was her family's biggest cheerleader, always cheering them on in school, sports, and their endeavors. She really looked forward to vacations in her special place, Aruba, with her husband Vincent and friends. She was her happiest when she was surrounded by those that she loved.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband Vincent of 57 years, her adoring children Kim Fecanin and husband George, Laura Sklavounos and husband John, and Vincent Callan and his wife Christine. Her most precious blessings, her grandchildren, Robert and his wife Alanna, Kara and her husband Joseph, Kevin, Andrew, Jonathan, Conner, Ryan, Sean, Reilly, the late Tyler, and her great grandson Joseph.
Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Calhoun – Mania Funeral Home located at 19 Lincoln Ave, Rutherford. Funeral will take place on Thursday; friends are asked to arrive by 8:45am at the funeral home for a 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary located at 91 Home Ave, Rutherford. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum No. Arlington.
