JOAN V MOSS

August 16, 1929 – July 31, 2023

Joan V Moss passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023 at age 93. Joan was beloved by her family and all who knew her especially her church community and the teachers and students of Union School in Rutherford. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Robert (Bob) W Moss, her parents George and Margaret Van Saun, brother George Harold Van Saun, son-in-law Frank (Skip) Cherubino and granddaughter Carolyn Moss. She is survived by her five children, Gordon Moss (Kate), Susan Cherubino(Skip), Nancy Catanese(Matt), Barbara Sconzo(Nick) Robert D Moss(Kristin) 10 grandchildren, John, Paul, Kevin, Daniel, Christine, Danielle, Michael, Emily, Whitney, Lyndsey, 5 great grand-children and 4 nephews. In addition to raising her five children, Joan was a longtime active member of Grace Episcopal Church and worked as the librarian’s aide for over 30 years at Union School of Rutherford retiring at aged 80 to care for her husband.

Everyone who knew her will miss her smile, her kindness and the unwavering love she had for her family, friends and church community.

Her family will be celebrating her life on Monday, August 7th at 10 am at Grace Episcopal Church 128 W Passaic Avenue Rutherford. The ceremony will be followed by a private burial where she will be reunited with her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Grace Episcopal Church in her honor.
