Trainor Joan (nee Brophy) 83, of Rutherford passed on August 22, 2009. Born March 9,1926 in Union City to Martin Brophy and Mary Elizabeth McEwain. She was a graduate of St. Michael's HS in Union City. Joan resided in Rutherford for 35 years with her sister Muriele. She was employed as a payroll clerk for Barnett's Spices in Hoboken for over 20 years. Joan and her sisters and brothers devoted their lives to the care and nurturing of their beautiful sister Claire. However, working full time and caring for her sister did not deter her from her passions, reading and baking. She is survived by her devoted sister Muriele Brophy and her loving nieces and nephews; Thomas, Doreen, Robert and Lauren Brophy, Thomas and Terrance Molon, Lynne Russomanno and William Stanton. Joan is predeceased by her brothers and sisters Martin, Lucille, Gertrude, Claire, Rita and Charles Brophy. Friends will be received on Wednesday, 5:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral will be Thursday 9:00 am from the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Liturgy in St. Mary's RC Church, Rutherford.
