Obituary for John P "Jack " Clarke

John “Jack” Clarke, 80 of Rutherford, passed at home on May 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Washington, DC to Patrick and Teresa (nee Mc Alinden) Clarke.

Raised in Harrison, NJ before settling in Rutherford with his wife Phyllis.  Jack had many interests specially his Rock & Roll Band “Jokers Wild” as their drummer for many years. He enjoyed bowling with the guys and playing softball for the 40’s and over league, and you would always find him watching the Giants and Mets games on TV, but his great love was his grandchildren especially watching them engaging in sports.

Jack is survived by his wife Phyllis (nee Wysocki) of 56 years, his daughters Stacey Clarke and Alisha Schmitt and his son-in-law Frank Schmitt and cherished granddaughters Abigail and Ellie.  Also survived by his sister-in-law Larraine Wysocki, niece Christie Brown, her son Sam and nephew Jeffery Wysocki.  Jack also leaves his sister Mary Ilavsky, as well as her children, Teresa Covell, Laura Trombetta, Jerry Covell and wife Daniella and Patricia Covell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Liturgy on Thursday 10:00am June 2, 2022 at the Church of St. Mary 91 Home Ave., Rutherford followed by an Inurnment at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.

In Jack’s memory, donations may be made to the Rutherford Food Pantry, 176 Park Avenue Rutherford.
