John Arthur, 87, of Rutherford, formerly of Guttenberg, NJ on September 5, 2012.
John was born in 1925 to Rudolph and Martha Driegert (nee Borman). He was a World War II Veteran who served with the United States Navy Construction Battalions, the “Seabees,” in the Pacific. John worked for New Jersey Transit Authority, Hoboken as a Car Cleaner for 30 years retiring in 1985.
He is survived by his sister Evelyn White, sister in-law Doris Driegert and his nine nieces and nephews: Elizabeth, Barbara, Susan, David, Linda, Steven, Gale, Karen and Eileen,
John is predeceased by his brothers Richard (2007), Douglas (1998), George (1987) and his sister in-laws Dolores and Ruth Driegert.
Friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service Saturday 4:30PM, Rev. Peter Wilkinson officiating. Visiting Hours: 2:00 to 5:00PM in the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford.
Funeral will be Private.
