Obituary for John F Maguire Jr.
John F. Maguire, Jr., 85, of Wallington, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021. He was born to John F. Maguire and Catherine (nee Fischer) Maguire in New York City.
John entered the United States Army as a young man and serving his country was something he was extremely proud of. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, he began his career as a mechanic for Penske Trucking in Lodi. He was employed there for 35 years before retirement at 63 years old. During those years he was married to Janet (nee Garripoli) and together they raised three daughters, Michele, Diane and Marie. He also enjoyed spending a lot of time with his five grandchildren. John was a very devoted husband and family man. He worked hard in his life for his family, his wife and daughters. When John became ill, his wife and his daughters were always by his side never wanting him to be alone or without one of his girls. Loosing John leaves a hole in all our hearts and he will be deeply missed by his family.
John is survived by his wife Janet, his daughters Michele Maguire, Diane Stankiewicz and husband Guy, Marie Maguire Lysek & husband David, his grandchildren; Samantha, Rachel, Gina. Brianna, Hunter, his sisters; Kathleen Lynch (the late Patrick Lynch) and Lorraine Roth & husband Robert. He is predeceased by his brothers, Raymond and Donald.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday 9am to 11:30am in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford, followed by a 12:00pm Funeral Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church, 127 Paterson Ave., Wallington, NJ.
