Obituary for John Hayward Blackley,III

John H. Blackley III, age 93, of Whiting formerly of Ridgefield, NJ passed away Friday April 19th, 2024, comforted by his beloved wife for 72 years, Arlene (Nelson) by his side.

John was born in Englewood, lived in Ridgefield for 60 years, he also lived in Oakland and Hemlock Farms, PA before finally settling  in Whiting NJ in 2012.
He Served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a licensed funeral director who worked along side of his father Jack for many years before becoming the owner of the Blackley Funeral Home in Ridgefield in 1974.

John was a member of Townley Masonic Lodge # 220 in Palisades Park where he twice served as Master. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite of NJ, the American Legion and VFW both in Ridgefield. In addition, he held  memberships in the Ridgefield Star Square Association, Signet Chapter and Order of Eastern Star in Ridgefield. He served as the “Dad advisor” for Lafayette Chapter Order of DeMolay in Palisades Park for over twenty years. He was a lifelong member of Morsemere Community Church in Ridgefield.
 

Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 To 9:00pm. Funeral Tuesday 10:00am Service at the funeral home. Interment Old English Neighborhood Reformed Church Cemetery 1040 Edgewater Ave. Ridgefield, NJ
