Obituary for John J. Boyle

John J., 78, long time resident of Rutherford passed away August 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to John and Isabel (nee O’Donnell) in Bayonne NJ.
John proudly served in for the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He was employed with the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford for 25 years, in their Maintenance Department; he retired13 years ago. John was an active member of the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford and the Knights of Columbus. His passion was boxing and he was an accomplished amateur boxer. He won the Golden Glove tournament in 1958 and Athlete of the Year in Bayonne in 1959.
John will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Marie (nee DePinto), his daughter Lisa Kearns and her husband Michael Kearns, his son John Boyle and his wife Jane Crossley, his daughter Teresa Boyle-Vellucci and her husband Michael Vellucci, and his beautiful grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Isabella and Aiden.
John is survived by his brothers, Patrick and Maurice and his sister AnnMarie Bonner. He is predeceased by his brothers, Daniel, Charlie and Hugh.

Family will receive loved ones and friends Friday, August 9th, 2013 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, New Jersey.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 10:15 gathering 10:00am for a family Eulogy in the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Avenue, Rutherford, New Jersey
Private Cremation

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070 or a youth organization of your choice.
