John G. Piltzecker 83 of Rutherford passed on February 22, 2011 in St. Mary Hospital, Passaic. He was born in Hoboken and was the son of George and Augusta (Krause) Piltzecker.
John served in the Merchant Marine and the US Navy during WWII. After serving his country, he graduated from Central Institute, Newark, NJ. He was an employee of Bendix/Honeywell in Teterboro, retiring after 43 years in 1994.
He was a member and Past Master of Boiling Spring Lodge No. 152 F&AM in Rutherford; and held memberships in the USS Portsmouth CL102 Association, the United States Navy League, US Naval Institute, US Navy Cruiser Sailors Association, and the US Navy Memorial.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Vera (Kineyko), two sons, John W. of Philadelphia, PA, William R. and his wife Nancy (Bowman) of Eastham, MA. and his adored grandsons, Charles and James.
Prayer service will be 10:30am Saturday.
Funeral Saturday 9:30am from the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford followed by Interment in George Washington Mem. Park Cemetery, Paramus
Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm.
