John W. Reformato (Ref), 52, of Rutherford passed away peacefully at his home in Lyndhurst on July 28, 2022.

Ref was born on March 5, 1970 to Lucien and Jackie Reformato. He graduated from Rutherford High School in 1988, and from Susquehanna University in 1992, earning a degree in Finance. It was there that he met the love of his life, Melissa Garreth. They married in 1995 and eventually settled in Lyndhurst, where they raised their loving pups, Franco and Blitz.

Ref always had a passion for sports. He played baseball, basketball and football for Rutherford High School and baseball for Susquehanna University. Ref was more than an avid sports fan. He had legendary, endless sports knowledge, and was a devoted and passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Boston Celtics, UNC basketball, Rangers hockey, Liverpool FC and his New York Yankees. Ref also enjoyed playing golf, going to games, and just hanging with friends. Ref had a wonderful sense of humor, lived life to fullest, and will be greatly missed.

John is survived by his wife Melissa of 27 years, his parents Lucien and Jackie Reformato, his twin sisters Joanne Dray and Jeanne Bauman, his mother in law Jace Garreth, sister and brother in law Ali and Chris Grava, and his nieces and nephews Kayla, Amanda, Rachel Michael, Daniella and Brady.

Friends and family will be received on August 4th from 4-8pm at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home in Rutherford
