The BD 25 Year Parties will never be the same without Jo. Her joy, enthusiasm and passion of life was unmatched. I will miss dancing with her at the parties.

One word: ELVIS! Mary Lou Kittren reminded me of the day Elvis came to Becton Dickinson to sing for Jo. We’ll never forget it!

I have great memories of Auntie Jo. She was always so loving and kind to Laura and I. She was thoughtful in everything she did. My favorite memory was when she took me on my first trip outside the US to Puerto Rico. We had such a lovely time. She got such a kick out of all the young guys paying attention to her and all the older men paying attention to me. It was quite funny. But what was really funny was her booking a tour to the Bacardi Rum factory at 9am in the morning! Every time I think about her I think of how interested she was in everything going on in my life and that I was happy. She was really a beautiful person and will be greatly missed! My sympathies to all who loved her. Maria and Roy Lapidus

I’ve known Josephine & her sister Rose for a Wonderful 27 years! What can I say about a close & dear friend. I met her @ St Joseph’s Franciscan Parish (before it changed). I was a usher / choir member. What I’ll always remember is her closeness to her sister, and when Rose moved, her excited need that she was going to see her (and confess to me the following Sunday, why she did a no show, and all the wonderful things she did with her family). She also became Queen of the Twist Contest at most if not all the church dance parties, & I her dancing partner! She wasn’t just filled with life, she Was Life, busy enjoying it like a Mexican Jumping Bean! Never sitting still! All the dates had to go through the LaRosa test! Believe me, she wasn’t afraid to say, Joe you can do better or be careful, I know these things. Then when she met Roseangela, Jo lite up and said She’s a Keeper! When we announced our engagement, Jo was the First to give us a bottle of wine & beautiful card (of course kisses and hugs)! In both Roseangela and my mind Josephine Was at our wedding eating, dancing and enjoying herself! So, as I close, we Will be healthy & together again! I heard Heaven has a heck of a band that plays nonstop, and there we’ll find her smiling and dancing! Until then, we love you! Joseph & Roseangela Alu
