Julia Joel,nee Balogh age 87, formerly of Lyndhurst, died at her home in Kenmore WA on April 22, 2011.
She was happily married to Edward J. Joel for 40 years until his death in 1984. She loved Mariners baseball, a good mystery, swing music, a friendly game of scrabble, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Julie is survived by her three devoted children Gerard A. Joel, Terrance A. Joel and Virginia A. Lupori, her dear daughters-in- law and son-in-law, Mary Jane Joel, Diane Joel and James Lupori, her loving sisters and brother Beatrice Remeika, Bernadette Jacobson and Robert Balogh, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was retired from Essex County after many years of dedicated service.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday April 28th, 2011 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm at Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday April 29th at St. Joseph Church in East Rutherford at 10:30 am followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
