Julie Catherine, 66, a longtime resident of Rutherford, passed away on Saturday, October 4th, 2014. She was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Frank and Theodora (nee DiPaolo) Lanna. Julie started working for the Bayonne Board of Education as a Special Ed. Teacher in February 1972. She earned her degree from Jersey City State College in 1972. She earned her Master's Degree in 1985. She was employed as a Special Education Teacher, CST Social Worker and Guidance Counselor until she retired in February of 2011. She retired as a Guidance Counselor after 39 years working for the BBOED.
She was the best sister to her “special needs” brother, Michael Lanna, a dearest friend to Peggy McCloskey and her husband Dennis, their children Shane and his wife Rebecca McCloskey, Kevin McCloskey and Kaeden, (Shane & Rebecca’s son)
Family will receive friends and loved ones Thursday, October 9th 4-8pm in Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral will be Private.
