Karen (nee Francisco) Mazzaro, 60, of Hardyston, formerly a longtime resident of Nutley, New Jersey passed away at home Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Karen was born in Belleville to Jerry and Elaine (Gavenas) Francisco, grew up in Nutley, where she met Michael in 1986 and they were married in September of 1988.

Together, they settled down in Hardyston where they raised their son Michael J. III. Karen had a long career as a dental assistant in Nutley, Montclair and Vernon. Her loving heart and presence lit up the room. Her passion was her gifted talent in crafting wreaths and silk flower arrangements. She was an amazing cook, loved her music, jewelry, and decorating her home.

Karen is predeceased by her parents Gerald and Elaine as well as her brother Joseph and beloved dog Sammy. She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband Michael, her cherished son Michael J. III, her loving sister Susan Sasso, and all her other extended family, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition, Karen leaves behind her beloved friends who she loved and cherished while they supported her through her difficult journey.

A Memorial Mass for Karen will be announced at a later date.
