Kathleen grew up on Jones Street in Greenwich Village at a time when the area was full of families, mainly Italian Americans. There were many cousins in the area who were and still are very close. After High School, she went to work at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Greenwich Village in an Administrative capacity. Wanting to be better qualified, she took evening classes at Pace University and ultimately received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. As her career continued at the hospital, her strong desire to help people motivated her to turn to nursing. She completed an Associates Degree in Nursing and returned to St. Vincent’s. Her personality came through in her nursing, a caring, compassionate person who served her patients well.!Her family and friends all knew her as a selfless person, generous to a fault and easy to love. We will all miss her.

Liz Ratkowski and Wendy,
Kathy you were one of the most caring and loving person we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, you were there helping us when we needed someone to care for my mother in law. Always smiling and thinking about others. We tried to plan lunch many times but now We’ll have to wait till we meet again. You’ll be missed so much .

I am so saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing. Kathy was like a second mother to me. We were best friends with Theresa and she took care of all us girls. She took us places , gave advice but most importantly instilled a great moral compass for us to follow. She made us laugh infectiously and I will hold this memories closely in my heart. Rest peacefully Kat. I will miss you.

Nearly 40 years of laughing together, of sharing all the highs and lows - I had counted on there being many more years and more memories. I know that all is well with you, my friend, but things are very sad with me. I thank God for you and for the inspiration, the courage, the fun, and the zest for life that you exemplified.
