Connolly Jr. Leo, 85, of Rutherford, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Leo was born in Jersey City to Leo and Mary (nee Sullivan) Connolly on June 19, 1925. He is predeceased by his loving wife Peggy (2008) and his brother Gene. Leo is survived by his children, Leo III and his wife Sheila, Brian and his wife Sue, Anne and her husband Daniel, Meg and her husband Paul. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Kacy Courtney, Liam, Ember, Mariah, Brian Jr., Jennifer, Sara, Jeremy, Sinead, Darcey and Jacqueline. He worked at Thomas Electronics for over 25 years as a chemist before retiring in 1990. Leo had many passions, he enjoyed photography was an avid bird watcher and ham radio operator. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral on Monday 10:00am with a 10:45am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary, Rutherford. Interment Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. Family and Friends will be received on Sunday 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm in the Collins-Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford .
