Obituary for Leonor Valente
Leonor Valente, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and
children on February 23, 2022. Leonor (“Lee”) Remolina born in Bogota, Colombia on May 19, 1949. She came to the United States and was raised in Nutley, New Jersey. After graduating from Nutley High
School, she met Ignazio Valente, her loving husband of 50 plus years. They began raising their family in Passaic Park and moved to Rutherford in 1987.
Lee is predeceased by her younger brother George Remolina and is survived by her
younger brother Edward, her husband, Ignazio, son David and wife Maria, daughter
Leonor Diehl and husband Shane, son Mark and wife Adriana, and grandchildren
Nicholas, Gianna, Angela, Vincent, Alana Julieta and Laila Amada.
She enjoyed traveling, dancing, cooking, drinking tea, and spending time with her family
and friends. Lee will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4-8 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the Calhoun
Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, New Jersey.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Church of
Saint Mary, 91 Home Avenue, Rutherford, New Jersey.
Following services, she will be interred at the Fairview Mausoleum at 501 Bergenwood
Road in Fairview, New Jersey.
