Obituary for Lillian O. O Lundberg

Lillian Lundberg, 97, a Rutherford resident for 47 years, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2022. Lillian was born in Bayonne, NJ in 1924 to Francis George Albert Kuchler and Lucy Olive McKenna. She is now with her beloved husband of 58 years, LTC Donald E. Lundberg, whom she loved so very much. Lillian worked for Macy’s (NYC) and Western Electric before she became a stay-at-home mom. She treasured her daughters and son's in-law, Sue Garbe and her husband Ted, Janice Guzman and her husband Raymond. Being a mother & grandmother was always her favorite role. She adored her grandchildren Scott Garbe, Lauren Garbe, Emma Guzman and Alexandra Guzman. Lillian was that grandmother who got on the floor and played with them for hours and never missed an opportunity for a photo session with her grandchildren. She was infamously athletic in her large family when she was younger. Playing stick ball on the streets with all the boys, sometimes breaking a few windows in Bayonne with her home run hits. But that tomboy was also very girly. To say Lil liked clothes would be an understatement. Growing up in the Great Depression, Lil made up for it in her later years with hundreds of pairs of shoes, glitzy sweaters, and coordinating jewelry sets. Her hair always set, and her nails always done. And when she packed for a trip, there were many suitcases! Lillian loved going on trips with her family and her hobby was owning many cameras & video cameras over the years. Her family cherishes the beautiful memories and the everlasting love she gave them. It warms their hearts to know she is reunited with her soulmate, Don and her siblings.
