Mary Ellen Ball, 96, passed away at her home in Maywood on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022. Born to James and Stella (nee Mikul) Collins, she was raised in Brooklyn NY. She and her Husband Walter eventually settled in Rutherford NJ in 1964 where she resided until 2001. She lived her remaining years happily in Maywood NJ where she was close to some of her children. Although she lived many years in NJ, she always spoke glowingly of her years growing up in Brooklyn and often said she would move back given the opportunity. Mary Ellen led an extremely busy life raising 9 children. She was a wonderful Mother that created a household full of love and respect. She loved music and enjoyed listening to her favorite artists. She was a huge fan of Perry Como and Bing Crosby. She also loved to watch old movies especially if Jimmy Stewart was in it. He was her favorite. She was known and loved for her quick wit and great sense of humor.
Mary Ellen is predeceased by her husband Walter (1985). She sadly also lost two of her nine children, Gerard Ball (2009) and Therese Parisi (2022). Mary Ellen loved her family with all of her heart.
She will be greatly missed by her adoring children; Mary Ellen Graulich and husband Steve, Patricia Stinziano and husband Robert, Ann Marie Kirby and husband Michael, Barbara Sabatelli and husband Vito, James and wife Sandra, Walter J. and wife Margaret, and Joseph Ball, her grandchildren; James, Lauren, Alyssa, Zachary, Amanda, Jason and wife Lisa and Matthew. Mary Ellen is predeceased by her sisters, Florence Eisemann and Gertrude Collins.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 8/9/22 from 4pm to 8 pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral Wednesday arriving at funeral home 10 am for 11am Mass of Christian Liturgy at Queen of Peace, North Arlington followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
